Coming to hospital if you are in COVID-19 isolation or quarantine

South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) has procedures in place to protect patients, staff and visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This includes hospital visits by any person in COVID-19 isolation or quarantine, including:

  • patients requiring urgent or planned medical care (including maternity care), and any approved essential carer accompanying them
  • inpatient visitors *
  • subcontractors attending the site for urgent service works *.

* Exceptional circumstances apply for visitors and vendors and pre-approval by the SMHS Chief Executive is necessary.
