State Rehabilitation Service
The 140-bed State Rehabilitation Service provides statewide tertiary or specialist level inpatient and outpatient clinical rehabilitation services to people suffering from complex or catastrophic injuries or illnesses such as:
- traumatic brain injury
- spinal cord injury
- stroke (Healthy WA) and other neurological conditions
- orthopaedic conditions
- amputations.
The inclusion of the State Rehabilitation Service at our hospital means that rehabilitation patients have immediate access to other key services, including operating theatres, medical imaging, pathology and pharmacy.
Specialist areas include:
- acquired brain injury
- neurology
- amputee
- spinal, including the Spinal Outreach Service
- trauma and multidiagnostic rehabilitation technology (for example orthotic and prosthetics)
- school services (provided by Department of Education).
