Record babies for FSH

In a mini baby boom for Fiona Stanley Hospital – the maternity team welcomed 17 babies in 24 hours this week, creating a new record!
New mum Emmy Mills gave birth to little William Matthew Edwards on Tuesday 11 June and couldn’t fault her time at the hospital.
“It was a brilliant experience. The midwives are amazing and couldn’t do more to help me,” Emmy said.
“It makes the day a bit more special that William shares his birthday with 16 other babies born at FSH”.
Amongst the newborns were 13 girls and four boys.
FSH clinical midwifery specialist Louise Hennessy said her team did an exceptional job handling the influx of babies.
“The staff deserves a huge thank you for working cohesively as a team to deliver a record number of babies in a day since the hospital opened,” Louise said.
“It’s a fantastic effort all round and I’m really proud of the team in providing a great service for families. It’s truly a testament to such a great maternity team at FSH.
“All the midwives were soo incredibly flexible as plans changed from one minute to the next and they went off to ‘catch babies’ in all different directions!”
